Our Services

General Dentistry

All aspects of General Dentistry are provided using the latest contemporary techniques and materials. Our clinicians are mature and very experienced.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Knowing how important the role of teeth is in the appearance of your smile we offer a variety of services to help create a lasting smile.

Veneers, crowns, bridges, along with orthodontics can help straighten teeth, close gaps and improve the look of discoloured teeth.

Crowns are porcelain covers for either damaged or unsightly teeth. They are individually constructed by our technicians to match and blend in with the surrounding teeth.

Veneers provide a wafer thin mask of porcelain to hide discoloured or chipped teeth.

Bridges We can firmly fit a replacement tooth or teeth attached to adjacent teeth.

Natural Coloured Fillings Unsightly or metal fillings can now be replaced by natural coloured fillings to enhance your smile.

Gap Closures Using the latest dental adhesive techniques gap closure can be achieved.

Tooth Bleaching

Dental Implants

Dental implants are a modern method of replacing missing natural teeth. The idea was originally conceived by a Swedish surgeon in the early 60’s, and now they have become a routine and highly predictable form of treatment with high success rates. Implants are placed daily at our practice. Mr Murray has 30 years’ experience and places more than 800 implants per year.

What are Implants

Implants are made from surgically pure titanium, which also has a proven track record in hip and joint replacements. They are placed into the bone under the gum and perform a similar function to natural tooth roots. Implants are small and hidden from view inside the mouth.

Many people have just one or two missing teeth leaving unsightly gaps or perhaps they wear a small plastic or metal denture. With implants there may no longer be a need for a gap or denture.

Implants can also be used to help secure conventional dentures in the mouth. Loose lower dentures can be a thing of the past!

What can Implants do?

Implants can be used to anchor artificial teeth in the mouth. This means that crowns(caps) and bridges can be fixed into the mouth where teeth are missing. A common problem for denture wearers is the full lower denture with no grip. Just two implants in the mouth with small retentive anchors inside the denture can overcome this.

What does treatment involve?

The first step is a consultation for you to discuss your needs and wishes. A written plan tailored to your individual requirements is subsequently provided encompassing full details of your treatment.

Placing implants is a minor procedure performed in the dental surgery with a local anaesthetic. After about two months the implants will have integrated and can then be used to anchor artificial teeth.

Read About Mr Murray

Our practice is a centre of excellence and the new implant suite is state of the art.

Mr Graham Murray had always wanted to be a dentist from a young age and originally from London graduated from Birmingham dental school in 1985.

After some time as an intern at the Bellevue hospital in New York he came to work as a junior doctor in the oral surgery department of the Coventry and Warwickshire hospitals. Realising the limitations that national health service treatments could offer his patients Graham came to work in private practice with Mr Gren Campbell at Daventry road in 1987 and at the same time was a clinical tutor to final year students back at Birmingham. Teaching is one of his great loves and we often mentor colleagues who seek more experience in the field.

With his surgical skills Graham has steadily developed an implant referral practice within the practice and now heads a dedicated implant team. Thousands of implant cases have been completed over the years and more than 100 local colleagues refer patients to us for treatment.

All aspects of dental implant treatments are provided and we can offer oral sedation for more apprehensive patients.

Graham has attended and run postgraduate courses in implantology all over the world and now trains local colleagues who have an interest in implantology.

He is a regional mentor for the Straumann (ITI) implant company and was committee member for the West Midlands for six years on the board of Association of Dental Implantology in London.

Dental Hygiene

Our practice is dedicated to preventive measures to help you maintain healthy teeth and gums. Our very experienced hygienist is available to ensure continued oral health for everyone.

Our dental hygienist has three main roles:

  1. Teaching patients good oral hygiene techniques, individually tailored to specific needs.
  2. Removing calculus (tartar) from teeth – scaling and polishing as comfortably as possible.
  3. Treating gum disease (also known as ‘gingivitis’ or ‘periodontitis’) – caused by plaque, a sticky film of bacteria. If left untreated gums start to swell and bleed which can ultimately result in tooth loss.

Did you know we can help you avoid, bad breath, bleeding gums and the possibility of tooth loss from gum disease?

Tooth Whitening

Everyone dreams of white teeth. Now that dream can become a reality.

Tea, coffee, wine and tobacco all leave stains not just on the surface of our teeth, but deep within the structure.

We offer a very safe home bleaching system which you take home and apply yourself over a 2 week period.

It is relatively cheap and very safe.

Children’s Dental Care

At Graham Murray we provide high-quality treatment in a friendly environment. We are committed to continuing dental education and keeping abreast of changes in modern dentistry.

The children under our care experience

  • Fewer fillings
  • Less dental decay
  • Less likelihood of toothache
  • More attractive teeth
  • More choice
  • Reduced costs
  • Help to keep their own teeth for life
  • Protective plastic coatings for vulnerable back teeth
  • Gum shields for safety at school
  • Prompt specialist referral for orthodontic treatment (braces)

3D Scanning

Several years ago we purchased a state of the art 3D Cone Beam Scanner machine. This takes conventional scan X-Rays and 3D views vital for the safe planning of implant cases. The scanner has the lowest radiation dose possible for modern machines and save our patients the need to visit scanning centres elsewhere. Many local colleagues refer their patients to Daventry Road to use our scanner.
