Stephen qualified from Queen’s University Belfast in 2008. After completing his Vocational Training, he spent two years as a Senior House Officer and Specialty Doctor in Oral Surgery. During this time, he obtained Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons (MFDS) from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, achieving the highest mark in the examination and earning the prestigious John Smith Medal.
Stephen then gained experience in private practice in Australia and Singapore before working as a lecturer in the Oral Surgery department at Trinity College Dublin. During this period, he published several articles in peer-reviewed journals. He went on to complete a two-year diploma program in implant dentistry, earning his Diploma in Implant Dentistry (DipImpDent) from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.
Since 2020, Stephen has focused exclusively on dental implants, offering everything from straightforward single-tooth replacements to complex full-mouth reconstructions using extra-maxillary implants.
In 2024, he was admitted to the College of General Dentistry’s Implant Mentor register, a rigorous, peer-reviewed process that reflects his expertise, experience, and commitment to professional development. He was also awarded Associate Fellowship of the College. Stephen lives locally with his wife and daughter. Outside of dentistry, he enjoys traveling, staying active, and playing the guitar.
